3RD YEAR TECHNOLOGY REPORT
The focus for the technology dissertation evolved and moved towards creating a sustainable passive ventilation system for the housing units. This was done through several wind towers and individual, retractable vessels that allowed for optimised ventilation as needed. This exploration is a part of creating an energy-efficient housing scheme that was supported by a services roof garden, outer appliance skin and the use of appropriate materials such as CLT and lightweight steel structures.
The three main aspects involved figuring out how to get air into the building, how to get air into each individual apartment and finally how to get air out of the building. Using a combination of digitally modelled simulations and test models, an appropriate solution has been created.
